Guided Bird Walk at Big Wood, Manchester

The Details

Join us for a beginner-friendly guided bird walk through Big Wood, Little Wood and Hatchett’s Wood in Wythenshawe!

Led by our in-house ecologist, we will take a slow stroll through all three woodlands, stopping regularly to learn how to identify any birds that we spot – either by sight or by song!

It’s a great opportunity to learn, or improve, your bird Identification skills, to get outside and to connect with nature.

We can provide binoculars for the event, but we have a limited number to lend, so please bring your own if you have them.

There is residential parking along Hatchett Road and Coxton Road – roughly 5 minutes from Big Wood. Please be mindful of leaving space for residents to use their driveways.
The nearest Metrolink stop is Peel Hall, next to Big Wood.
The nearest bus stops are Peel Hall Metrolink Stop A (Stop ID: MANGTDJM), Peel Hall Metrolink (Stop ID: MANGTDJP) and Simonsway Stop H (Stop ID: MANGPTGM) where the following bus routes stop: 103, 130, 716, 729, 768, 810.
