Employee volunteering

If you are interested in getting your employees involved in corporate volunteering whether that's tree planting, woodland management, orchard creation and more, then we can help.

Bruntwood planting day

Taking part in practical activities as a group is a great way for employees to experience team-building in the great outdoors, whilst making a real difference to the environment, wildlife and local communities.

We offer two ways for employees of a company to get involved in practical activity with us:

  •  For small groups <10 who would like to do some volunteering at an open event with the public please visit the events page on our website for more information on the upcoming sessions. Please email the contact on the events page. Booking is essential!
  •  For larger groups >10 and those who want their own, private, bespoke session, then we offer 'Green Away Days' - more information is below

City of Trees Green Away Days

Our Green Away Days are private, bespoke sessions for just your company or their contacts, whether that be clients, customers or employees. Sessions can be run all year round and activities are seasonal; in winter we could be planting trees, and in summer doing some 'Tree-LC' or wildflower planting. We do our best to accomodate a location suitable to you, but this will depend on what projects we have going on!

Our Green Away Days are £50+VAT per person (minimum £500 spend), including lunch, all equipment, training and facilities. All you need to do is turn up on the day with suitable clothing and footwear.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need to bring anything with me?
We provide all of the tools and materials you’ll need, including gloves. There will be a briefing at the start of the day so you don’t need to prepare anything in advance.

What happens if it rains?
We usually go ahead whatever the weather, we would only reschedule in extreme circumstances.  If it’s really bad we will make a judgement call the day before or on the day of the event.

What should I wear?
Go for clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting muddy as well as sturdy closed toed shoes or boots. You will be working in long grasses and vegetation so you’ll want to be protected against this. Check the forecast but come prepared for the weather to change!
