Citizen Forester Habitat Management at William Wroe, Trafford

The Details

Join us for a day of habitat management and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!

We are carrying out this work to maintain a healthy and sustainable habitat that supports local wildlife and the surrounding community. We will be maintaining different areas of William Wroe including wet willow areas, ditches and paths to improve access. This will involve using tools like lopper, billhooks, spades, saws and others. All training will be provided, and no experience is necessary.

All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day – you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for adults.

You can enter the site opposite Flixton Golf Club and you will find us on the right-hand side of the site from there. Please ring Nina (07354904064) or Rosie (07741655479) if you need help finding us.

Parking/public transport

There is parking at Flixton Road Car Park.
The site is about a 25 minute walk from the Urmston train station, and buses 255 and 248 operate in the area.

About the site

William Wroe is a public park and wetland. The area where we will be working has wet, muddy ground, some paths and uneven ground. A portaloo will be available on site for volunteer use.
