Katie joined the City of Trees team in February 2019 after completing a degree in Sustainable Environmental Management (MSc) and an internship with a conservation charity in Devon.
Katie is part of the delivery team where you’ll see her at our community engagement events and school sessions. As a Forest School Practitioner, her work concentrates on outdoor education and connecting children and young people with nature. Katie focuses her work on accessibility in nature and is passionate about engaging people of all ages and capabilities to the natural world to improve their health and wellbeing.
Katie is passionate about wildlife, particularly moths and butterflies, and the outdoors. While exploring the coast and countryside she’ll always have a camera capturing the whole environment.
Her favourite tree is a Blackthorn because the early blossom shows that spring is on the way and its sloe berries in the autumn are delicious to forage.
