Eleanor joined the City of Trees team in January 2019 as an Assistant Project Officer.
Having studied Ecological and Environmental Sciences (BSc Hons) at the University of Edinburgh, Eleanor is particularly interested the interconnectivity of the natural world. Her previous research has largely focused on how global change is altering ecosystem processes in the low arctic.
Eleanor helps to deliver a wide range of practical activity, working on projects such as Trees for Learning and the Northern Forest. She is passionate about connecting people to nature and loves working within the community to help to improve Greater Manchester’s sustainability status.
Eleanor has always enjoyed being outside and exploring new places. She is loves to see how much ecology varies between different landscapes. Her favourite trees are hawthorns because they remind her of old countryside hedgerows, bursting with blossom indicating that summer is just around the corner!
