What to expect:

Join us to survey Waxcaps and spot other fungi along the way with the help of different identification tools.

Whether you are a beginner or fungi enthusiast, this session will provide you with the opportunity to put your knowledge in to practice and gain hands-on survey experience.

Please note, this session is following up from a workshop hosted on the 29th of September.

 

Time and Location

About the site

  • Sunnybank Vale is located in the Greenside area of Droylsden and has a variety of habitats for many birds and animals that you would expect to see in a woodland, meadow or wetland. The area where we will be surveying has a combination of formal and informal paths and there are areas of uneven ground and thick vegetation.
  • Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
  • Residential parking is available.
  • Toilet facilities will not be available on this survey.

Public Transport and Parking

  • There is free on the road parking on the housing estate adjacent to Sunnybank Vale.
  • The nearest bus stop(s) are Chatsworth Road on Edge Lane (Stop ID: MANDAPGP) and St Martin’s Church on Greenside Lane (Stop ID: MANTMWMJ). The following bus routes stop there: 171, 172, 230, 231, 793 and 864. The nearest tram stop is Cemetery Road on the Blue Line.
