NCHS – Soil Saviours, Wildflower Meadow Management

The Natural and Cultural Health Service (NCHS) is a programme of outdoor activities that promote good physical and mental wellbeing ran in collaboration with Whitworth Park.

Come and join City of Trees at Whitworth Park for some wildflower meadow management! We will be clearing the meadow of existing vegetation and preparing the ground for wildflower seed sowing.

Wildflower meadows are incredibly rich in biodiversity, with the wide variety of plants attracting huge numbers of different animals and especially insects! Wildflower meadows are essential to our pollinators who have a key role to play in our food system. We will be clearing the meadow of existing vegetation and preparing the ground for wildflower seed sowing the following month. We will also be going through native British wildflowers.

Tools and gloves will be provided but please bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the activity and weather. All ages and abilities are welcome.
