The Details
Join us for a day of woodland management and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!
The aim of the day will be to plant several understory shrub tree species in the woodland to improve diversity. If time permits, we can also tackle some dominant species once the tree planting is complete.
We are carrying out this work to maintain a healthy and sustainable woodland that supports local wildlife and the surrounding community.
All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day – you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for adults and older children.
The work we’ll be doing will involve using tools like spades, loppers, secateurs, pruning saws . We will be using these tools open up pathways by pruning back some trees and removing encroaching bramble.
