Join us for a day of Planting and Tree Maintenance and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!
We will be doing tree maintenance and planting, giving our young trees at West Didsbury and Chorlton AFC some Tree-LC. We will be carrying out this work to ensure that the these trees reach establishment and create woodland areas that will support the local wildlife whilst also responding to the climate emergency.
All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day – you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for adults and children

- We will be meeting at the planting site behind West Didsbury and Chorlton AFC, Brookburn Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy M21 8FE
- Our working area is just behind the main pitch and can be accessed by the cycle path off Hardy Lane. see map for details.

Parking/public transport
- On street parking is avalible on Hurstville Road. 5 minutes walk from the working area.
- Arriving by public transport? The Darley Avenue bus stop on Hardy Lane is 5 minutes walk from our working area. You can get the 85A bus directly from Piccadilly Gardens.
About the site
West Didsbury and Chorlton AFC is a managed green space. The area where we will be working is mostly flat with however it does have uneven scrubby vegetation. The area is accessible via tarmac footpath however there is no formal footpath within the working area. A portaloo will be available on site for volunteer use.
