The Details

Join us for a day of tree planting & maintenance and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!

We will be doing tree planting and maintenance, giving our young trees at Mansfield Avenue some Tree-LC. We will be carrying out this work to ensure that the these trees reach establishment and create woodland areas that will support the local wildlife whilst also responding to the climate emergency.

All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day – you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for adults and older children.

• Residential Parking is available surrounding the site such as Chesham Road Please note this may be limited.
• Buses: The nearest bus stops are on Chesham Road, Stop ID: MANDPMGW and Russell Street, Stop ID MANDPMJD. Buses 472, 481, 483, 487 operate in the area.

• Tram/ Train: Bury Tram stop is a 35 minute walk from site

About the site

Walkers field is a publicly accessible greenspace. The area where we will be working has tall grass, wet and uneven ground. It is mostly flat with a combination of informal and formal paths. There is likely to be dogs on site. A portaloo will be available on site for volunteer use.Please wear appropiate footwear and clothing.
