Join us for a day of tree maintenance and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!

Join us for a day of tree maintenance, giving our young trees at Longford Park some Tree-LC. We will be carrying out this work to ensure that the these trees reach establishment and create woodland areas that will support the local wildlife whilst also responding to the climate emergency.

All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day – you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for adults and children.

Parking/public transport

• There is free parking available at the Longford Park Main Car Park on the Eastern side of the park, next to the Athletics Stadium at Longford Park Stadium, Ryebank Road, Manchester M21 9TA.
• The nearest Metrolink stop is Old Trafford, a 15 minute walk away. The Stretford and Chorlton tram stops are approximately 20 minutes away.
• The following buse lines stop less than 5 minutes from the event location: 15, 23, 25, 150, 734, 744, 762, 766, 778, 785.

About the site

Longford Park is a public park. The area where we will be working is flat with long grass and both hard standing, formal paths and ground-trodden dirt paths. There will be access to seating all day and a portaloo on site. If you are unable to find us on the day, call Hannah (07519 326206).
