Join us for a day of tree maintenance and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!
By carrying out tree maintenance we will be giving our young trees at Brabyns Park some Tree-LC. We will be carrying out this work to ensure that the these trees reach establishment and create woodland areas that will support the local wildlife whilst also responding to the climate emergency. As part of this work we will be carrying out vegetation removal and replacing mulch matts and woodchip around the base of previously planted sapling trees.
All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day – you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for all ages.

Parking/public transport
- The is a car park located at Marple Bridge, Stockport SK6 5EX. This is then a short walk to the Brabyns Park Recreational Centre.
- Marple train station is a 10 minute walk from Brabyns Park Recreational Centre. There are multiple bus stops on Brabyns Brow and Lower Fold road.
About the site
Brabyns Park is a public green space. The area where we will be working is a grassed over area with no formal footpaths. We will be working to remove vegetation around the base of trees so work area will be uneven under foot. The ground is relatively flat. A portaloo will be available on site for volunteer use.
