Tara Twine

Assistant Woodlands Officer

Tara joined City of Trees in October 2022 as Assistant Woodlands Officer, with a background in marine sciences, having completed a BSc in Marine Biology and MSc in International Marine Environmental Consultancy at Newcastle University. She’s had a mixture of roles in the environmental sector: GIS Specialist for an offshore engineering consultancy, in Natural England’s marine conservation advice team, and as an Events Assistant for Lancashire Wildlife Trust. She’s passionate about working on nature recovery for people, as well as planet, particularly in urban settings.

Tara loves all things outdoors, especially planning routes and exploring new areas on walks and runs. She also can’t resist a dip in the sea whenever she gets the chance. Tara’s favourite trees are the oaks for their role in supporting such a huge range of wildlife; lichens, mosses, birds, badgers and more!
