Bryan Cosgrove

Data Manager

Bryan has almost twenty years’ experience in the environmental sector, in a variety of roles, ranging from development of environmental policy and strategy, to technical environmental modelling, with particular strengths in GIS and project management.

With a grounding in practical conservation, habitat management, and environmental protection, Bryan has a wealth of experience in third sector, Environment Agency, and Local Authority.

His recent focus has been on development of a woodland strategy for Greater Manchester, modelling the benefits and need for tree-related ecosystem services, and developing opportunities for creating new, functional green infrastructure in the urban environment. Bryan has a bachelor’s degree in Conservation Management from University of Stirling and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Monitoring and Modelling from the University of Manchester.

Bryan joined the City of Trees team in January 2015 and is passionate about the environment, wildlife and nature. His favourite tree is the Scotts pine, with its craggy bark, perfect for lichens, invertebrates, crossbills and red squirrels.
