We are thrilled with the wonderful response we’ve had from the community in Greater Manchester to our very first #GMTreeMonth campaign which ran across November.
During the campaign we saw an increase in single and regular donations to support our work, as well as people offering to fundraise for us.
So many of you took part in our events and activities, shared photos and joined in the conversation.
In Week 1 – Trees and Bees. We produced a number of videos to show how you could help pollinators including making a bug hotel and a fun bee origami activity, as well as sharing a blog on pollinators and trees.
In Week 2, we celebrated GM’s Green Heroes. Personal Trainer Cavan Mulkerrin, and Yoga Teacher Alyesha Sayle joined forces to run a joint Fit and Flow session with over 30 people joining in to raise £500. We also showed how you could be a green hero at home.
In Week 3, we shared our love for parks and green spaces. We were joined by Claire Morris of Wild Awake Mindfulness who led us through two guided sessions to help us feel connected to nature. We also teamed up with Rhiane from Black Girls Hike who shared her top urban green spaces.
In Week 4 it was Tree Time! We were joined by Gemma Gratton who runs a Bolton-based sustainable fashion line which sources all of the materials, right down to the cotton, from Greater Manchester. View the video here. We also shared our top ten garden trees to inspire you to get planting.
