Citizen Forester Tree Maintenance at Pilgrims Way, Wigan

The Details

Join us for a day of tree maintenance and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!

We’ll be giving our young trees at Pilgrims Way some Tree-LC! We will be carrying out this work to ensure that the trees reach establishment and create woodland areas that will support the local wildlife whilst responding to the climate emergency.

All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. You will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for all ages. The event will run until the work is completed so on some days we may finish earlier than 3pm – please let us know if you will be coming later in the day and not arriving at 10am by emailing team@cityoftrees.org.uk

Parking/public transport

• There is on street parking on Delfhaven Court near the site. Please be considerate of residents when parking.
• Coniston Park Drive is the nearest bus stop (about 10 minutes walk from site) serving the 631, 632 668, 960, 973, 976, 977, 978, 980, and 981 bus routes.

About the site

Pilgrims Way is a public green space. The area where we will be working is flat with long grass and no formal footpath. A portaloo will be available on site for volunteer use.
