Assistant Project Officer
Shannon joined City of Trees in January 2020, working primarily on the Woodland Futures project which focuses on conserving and enhancing historic woodlands in Wythenshawe.
After finishing an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology at Newcastle University, she went on to complete a master’s degree in Ecological Management and Conservation at Queen’s University Belfast. During her postgraduate degree, Shannon specialised in the significance of urban green spaces for biodiversity which complements the work City of Trees undertake around Manchester.
Shannon loves running and travelling, having spent 5 months travelling around the world with a friend. Her favourite trees are cherry trees for the fruit and the beautiful, confetti-like blossom.
