BLOG: Freshfields Manchester Sustainable Cookbook

8th February 2021

This blog will help you to start eating more sustainably courtesy of our wonderful partners at Freshfields Manchester.  Freshfields’ Green Group have created a cookbook with over 100 pages of delicious plant-based recipes. Eating sustainably can be a minefield, but the book includes a fantastic guide on the most sustainable products, labels to look out for, and the benefits of a plant-based diet.

“This cookbook is created with a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly approach to our activities. Studies have shown that a plant based diet, coupled with time in nature, can lead to improved health and wellbeing.”

Freshfields are joy to work with and have been genuinely enthusiastic about our work ever since they attended one of our Green CSR days. Their Manchester offices advocated to make us their Charity of the year and they have been fundraising for us ever since. Their Green working group created this cookbook to help them towards their goal of raising £6000 for our charity and 100% of the proceeds of the cookbook go to City of Trees. All the recipes were contributed by staff and the lentil Dahl comes from our own Fundraising Manager Carly Razzell. If you would like to cook some healthy meals and give to a fantastic cause, then do get a copy!

“Supporting an environmentally focussed charity which also delivers community impact is really important for Freshfields’ responsible business strategy.”

At City of Trees community is at the heart of what we do and funds raised by our corporate partners like Freshfields helps us to achieve our core goals, such as planting 3 million trees which benefits us all. It also allows us to train Greater Manchester’s residents in forestry skills, put on outdoor school events and support older residents with our dementia walks. These activities increase people’s contact with nature which improves wellbeing as well as helping the environment. Cooking sustainably is an amazing way to contribute to our community by reducing individual impact on the environment, with the added bonus of delicious food.

Healthy eating that helps the planet isn't just for Veganuary, so why not tuck into some of these healthy, sustainable, recipes throughout the year with your own PDF copy?
