Assistant Project Officer x 2

We're looking for two Assistant Project Officers to join our team! The role of Assistant Project Officer will be primarily to assist in the planning and delivery of a range of different projects across Greater Manchester. These projects include tree planting, woodland management, greenspace improvement, conservation works and environmental education. Part of the role will also include supporting the delivery team with the organisation’s programme of activities such as corporate working days, volunteer sessions and a variety of public events.

Digital and Social Media Assistant

Right now, City of Trees is growing and we’re looking for a Digital and Social Media Assistant to join us on our journey. We are looking for someone who loves creating content and dreaming up campaigns.  So, if you love all things social media, and can bring fresh energy to our digital channels whilst addressing the climate emergency – we want to hear from you. While experience in the field is desirable, what shines for us is someone brimming with enthusiasm for what we do, is creative and confident and has a real passion for the environment.

This exciting and varied role will be responsible for managing City of Trees’ social media channels. You will also look after the City of Trees website, adding news and events as well as developing and improving the site. We’ve got lots going on and we are looking for someone who can clearly communicate our movement across the breadth of the social and digital spectrum.

You will be part of a friendly, busy and hardworking team which is leading the movement for a greener Greater Manchester.  Whilst you need the ability to work independently, you will be supported by the Communications Manager, also working closely with the Fundraising Manager.

We want you to have a positive, energetic and fresh approach, built strong relationships and take our social and digital media to the next level!

Additional information

  • Location: City of Trees’ city centre office largely, but some home working and travel to City of Trees’ Salford base and sites within Greater Manchester
  • Annual holiday entitlement is 25 days plus bank holidays
  • There will be a probationary period of 3 months from the start of employment

Project officer – Green Spaces Fund Advisor

The Greater Manchester Environment fund is all about: partnership working with Groundworks, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, RHS, Sow The City

  • Tackle the climate and biodiversity emergencies.
  • Have a priority fit with GM’s priorities for nature recovery and wider environmental ambitions. 

Targeting communities with a lack of quality greenspace

  • Target communities where there is poor access to quality green spaces
  • Tackle inequalities including health and wellbeing
  • Enable people to have contact with nature

Empowering communities to take positive action for nature 

  • Opportunities for training & skills through volunteering
  • Empower community groups to take actions in their local area

Additional Information

  1. Reports to: Development Co-ordinator Green Social Prescribing
  2. Salary: £25,000 - £27,540 depending on the level of skills and experience
  3. Hours: Full time in accordance with CFT hours
  4. 2 Year Fixed Term contract with potential to extend subject to funding
