Citizen Forester: Woodland Management at Lightshaw Meadows

Wednesday, 22nd September, 2021 - 10:00

Join us for our volunteer Citizen Forester session we'll be doing tree-LC work at Lightshaw Meadows in Wigan.

At the event we'll be giving the area a day of Tree-LC where you can learn many different woodland management techniques.

We will be cutting back hedgerows and trees, removing tree tubes (rabbit guards/deer guards), sprucing up the interpretation boards, checking and adjusting tree stakes and ties, pulling any weeds from the tubes, as well as doing any necessary pruning to the fruit trees and check stakes and ties.

Whether you give 1 day, 1 hour or 1 week, by becoming a Citizen Forester, you're spreading the word about the City of Trees movement and helping us to achieve our vision of planting a tree for person across Greater Manchester.

The event is open to members of the public, families and company away days. Please note all places must be booked beforehand and corporate groups must get in touch to check attendee numbers.
